CMT Medical Technologies,
now a subsidiary of Thales, was founded in 1981 by a group of scientists from the Technion - Israel Institute
of Technology and Tel-Aviv University whose goal was to develop and market
products for advanced medical applications. CMT soon focused its efforts
exclusively on medical imaging. The Companys 5,000+ clinical installations
worldwide provide firm proof of CMTs emergence from its academic past to the
forefront of medical imaging. Our primary goals are to anticipate and meet
clinical needs, and ensure that our systems are used to their maximum capability
for maximum patient benefit.
CMT is located in Yoqneam, Israel, a dynamic center of high-tech and
science-based activity. Israel is a top global center for general and medical
technology development: the worlds largest technology companies, such as IBM,
Intel, Philips, General Electric, Motorola and Microsoft, and all major medical
device manufacturers all operate local R&D and/or manufacturing centers or
subsidiaries.
Interdisciplinary Expertise
From state-of-the-art CMT front-end technology come unsurpassed clinical images,
the ultimate goal of any medical imaging system. Behind this technology lie the
knowledge, skills and talent of our employees, most of whom are highly skilled
scientists, engineers and technicians, with proven experience in real-time digital
image processing, digital signal processing, medical imaging, X-ray and detector
physics and clinical applications. Their interdisciplinary know-how in radiation
physics, advanced electronics and computer-controlled mechanics is key to the
technological edge of CMT's products.
Strong Market Presence
CMT has pursued its global strategy in the midst of a quickly expanding
international medical imaging market. CMT equipment serves the medical
imaging community across the entire globe, in both sophisticated and emerging
markets.
CMT medical imaging solutions are marketed through the international Thales network.
Innovative Research & Development
For more than 20 years, the name CMT has been synonymous with technological
innovation. Since its founding, CMT has pioneered many original solutions,
some of which were later widely adopted by the industry. CMT introduced the
first pixel-by-pixel motion correction in 1985, maximum opacification techniques
in 1987, low-noise road mapping in 1991 and simultaneous bi-plane acquisition in 1993.
Research is a guiding force at CMT. Today, close to 40% of all CMT employees work
in interdisciplinary research and development departments. Research at CMT means
designing modern, advanced products at the forefront of medical technology,
responding to customer needs and patient comfort, and providing state-of-the-art,
cost-effective medical imaging equipment aimed at positive clinical outcomes.
Comprehensive Product Offering
CMT offers two families of systems that together meet a wide range of digital
X-ray imaging needs.
The PrestoDR family comprises state-of-the-art Digital Radiography (DR) systems based on Flat Panel Detector (FPD) technology.
PrestoDR systems are marketed in a variety of configurations, meeting any department need.
The PrestoDR designed as a digital subsystem for OEMs to incorporate into their own newly manufactured X-ray rooms.
PrestoDR systems are designed to deliver maximum throughput and cost savings without compromising performance or diagnostic value.
The Duet family provides highly cost effective solutions for R&F rooms and angiography suites.
Fully compatible with all major X-ray generators and tables, and with a rich set of sophisticated features,
such as real-time noise reduction, last image hold, high-resolution digital radiography,
road-mapping and post acquisition image enhancement, the Duet products designed as a digital subsystem for OEMs to incorporate into their own newly manufactured X-ray rooms
Solid Clinical Partnerships
CMT has developed strong partnerships with healthcare providers and is active in
collaborative research programs at university hospitals. CMT's medical imaging
achievements have been made possible by close cooperation with leading medical
professionals. We are proud of our contribution to the work of physicians,
researchers and healthcare managers our partners in medical imaging.
