DICOM PROTOCOL (powered by Merge)

The DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) standard was formed to facilitate the open exchange of medical images and associated information between different digital diagnostic imaging modalities and between medical devices manufactured by various vendors that evidently produce a variety of digital image formats.

With its SmartSPOT and SmartRAD systems, CMT offers full compliance with DICOM 3.0 standards. The SmartSPOT and SmartRAD systems support the following DICOM 3.0 protocols:

The DICOM Store service enables automatic, semi-automatic or manual transfer of images acquired by the SmartSPOT or SmartRAD systems to any DICOM Storage Server (SCP).

DICOM Print (SCU)

The DICOM Print service enables automatic or manual printing of images acquired in the SmartSPOT system in a DICOM complaint printer.

DICOM Modality Worklist Management (MWM)

The DICOM Modality Worklist Management service is used for automatic registration of new patients and examinations in the SmartSPOT and SmartRAD systems by using the standard DICOM MWM protocol to retrieve the examination details from the HIS/RIS server.

DICOM Modality Performed Procedure Step (MPPS) *

The DICOM Modality Performed Procedure Step (MPPS) service is used for sending all study information and x-ray parameters, such as acquisition information, patient details and image information, to the HIS/RIS server upon completion of the examination.
